ASK FROM GOD
ASK FROM GOD
15th JANUARY 2022
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye. shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh. findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” – Matthew 7:7 -8
A basic aspect of the Christian life is our willingness to ask from God the things that we need. Even though we have the mental faculty to create and to own the things we need, there are moments when asking from God becomes necessary.
God is the everlasting fountain of abundance, ready and willing to give to us whenever we ask of him. God wants us to ask to enable Him to bless us. The Bible says, ‘Ask and it shall be given.’ That means that God will give whatever is needed to those who have the faith to ask for it. Therefore, faith plays a vital role in receiving from God. Jesus further says that if we have faith, and do not doubt, we can do all things –Matthew 21: 21.
There are many reasons we doubt God. Chief reason being that we do not believe that God is there for us. We also do not know how to approach God to ask. Also, we fear that we might not receive even if we ask. But doubting God is not right for us. The Bible says without faith, it is difficult to please God.
Nevertheless, there are many reasons we could be blocking the blessings of God from reaching us. Note the following hindrances:
Lack of confidence in our ability to receive from God.
Lack of faith in God to give to us as we ask of Him.
Disobedience or sinful attitude.
Laziness and not ready to work. Inability to act or unwillingness to convert opportunities to wealth.
Bad manners, and indiscipline.
The plan of God for humanity is to make us experience abundance here on earth. God says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. ‘” — Jeremiah 29:11. Therefore, in line with the promise of God, we must ask Him for the things that we need.
How do you know you are blocking God from blessing you. Note the following warning signs:
Stress. Stress is the biggest blessing blocker of them all.
Fear, the kind that you can feel in your gut and keeps you from doing what you need to do.
Procrastination.
Irritability & Anger.
Trying Too Hard.
This is a time to think straight, and to trust God more. He is there to bless us always.
