HOW CAN I STOP DOUBTING GOD AND HIS PROMISES?

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind” – James 1:6

I have heard people argue about whether God really exists. Some have also dismissed the truth about whether the scriptures can be of any benefits to us. So many questions begging for answers!  Like these people, so many of us feel this way but would rather prefer to hide our feelings, and not engage in any public debate. You may doubt God because you cannot see Him, which makes you doubt the existence of His word. Many a time, by some divine opportunity, we are allowed to go through certain experiences in life to prove to us that God truly exists. Christ truly dwells in us! He lives in the inner temple of our hearts. While some can hear Jesus knocking the doors of their hearts waiting to be admitted in, and have, in fact, opened for Him to dine with them, some close their ears or seal off their minds completely away from the yearning of our Lord.  As you continue to devote to God through daily prayers and study of His Word, you definitely will experience God very quickly than those who have not so applied themselves. But you need a measure of faith to have a supernatural encounter with God. The issues of doubts and faith are quite complex. But the fact remains that when we doubt God and His power, we stop God from working for us. God indeed exists, and God indeed has plans for everyone – notwithstanding religion or ideological biases. What is required of us is to believe that God is not far away in the sky several miles away from us; Rather, God is alive in us, and He will hear us when we call on Him. But, our faith in God makes way for God to answer us quickly.  “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:11). With faith, we have “assurance” and “conviction” that our prayers will be fulfilled, even though we have not seen the evidence with our eyes. Quite frankly, the word of God is God and is already established. God is everywhere and in all things; therefore, God’s evidence is NOT lost on us. To overcome doubts, first, you must trust God absolutely like children would trust their parents. God is perfect and free from human imperfection. He is full of love and grace as well.  Therefore, God is ready and willing to reveal Himself to us. Secondly, continually seek God through studying the scriptures and daily prayers. This is because the word of God is God; God also manifest as Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is ever-present to teach the scriptures, but only when we are ready to open up to Him. When you do these things, your doubtful mind will gradually become stable. Today’s word says, “Have Faith “. Therefore, if you are going through a trial, temptation, or incidents of unanswered prayers that is causing you to doubt the existence of God or His word, then cry out to God.  He is faithful, always!  He will never leave or forsake you. Say to God; “I BELIEVE YOU HAVE DONE IT FOR ME ALREADY IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME! “ AMEN

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare the Holy Spirit greatly empowers me , and I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and saviour of the world. Lord, I decree no confusion or fear shall eat up this revelation from my heart. Father, today I reject and renounce any false teaching and deceitful manipulations of my understanding of God, His written word and Jesus Christ. Lord, I declare the promises of God are manifesting in my life right now, and the Holy Spirit counsels and empowers me. Amen.
