WHERE REQUIRED, STAND ALONE FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE
WHERE REQUIRED, STAND ALONE FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE

One mistake we often make in life is to take the wrong decision when we are being persuaded or dissuaded by a group opinion, especially in matters where our personal integrity or duty to God or others is compromised. You must let your principles of life be rooted in God’s word and uplifting to humanity. It does not matter whether anyone else believes in your way of life or not. After all, people often come together to support a group activity out of sympathy for one another, not necessarily because the issue involved is a laudable one. It is therefore not right to be swayed by such mass action or beliefs.“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” – Micah 6:8
If you are convinced about your rational thoughts or your sense of understanding about the issues at stake, then hold your ground, and ensure that love prevails. As for me, I like to exercise the dictates of my conscience in so many instances. This I would do no matter what others think or feel. But when I remain stuck to my belief and conviction in this wise, I ensure that the weak are made stronger, the poor enriched and the proud humbled. This is an attitude I imbibed some 27 years ago, and I have kept to that to date.
Many people find faults with my adamant posture in some instances and thought that I had not been flexible enough. My response is that flexibility is good but be careful not to erode justice and fair play in the process. God hates injustice because He is the God of the weak, as well as a merciful God. As far as my action brings succour to someone by showing mercy, extend love and cures injustice, I am gratified.
Conversely, I have not learned to be neutral in any situation. For instance, to be neutral in the face of injustice is to glorify evil and cause darkness to reign supreme. In one of In his famous public statements, Bishop Desmond Tutu says,” If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality”.
There are two basic reasons you must endeavour at all times to act like God or become godly: ONE – To make our world a better place. Today, our world is going through turbulence, partly due to the inability of the majority to uphold truth, justice, and righteousness. If more people understand what it means to conduct oneself properly and to embrace love, justice and fairness, darkness and evil will disappear from our world. We all have a role to play in this, and the change must start with you!
TWO – We have to act Godly to better our lives. This is because whatever we give out to others, we also receive back. Interestingly, not many people would support a godly act that seeks to set another free. The reason being that many are themselves not truly delivered. As you can see around you, so many cannot rationalize any situation correctly, apparently due to ignorance or innocence. We, therefore, have to be careful not to form an unproductive or wicked alliance.
God frowns at such attitude. Only truth, justice and Equity working through Love would make a positive impact on our world. You have a role to play in this, and it is now!
Beloved, the level of our societal attainment is dependent on the level of our collective consciousness as a people. God says to us today, “uphold justice, love and righteousness at all times and never to quit just because somebody else disagrees with you. This is what I expect from you so that your world can be safer and prosperous for you and everyone!”
PRAYERS
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I dissociate myself today from every bad crowd that goes away from the path of justice, righteousness, equity and fair play. Lord, today I choose to do all things for thy glory alone. I sanctify my speech, behaviour, love and I now shine as a worthy example to others. Amen.
