I BELIEVE! (PART 1 OF 2)

5th MAY 2020

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind” – James 1:6

In this period of suffering and agony occasioned by the COVID – 19 pandemic, I have heard people argued whether God really exists; And that if He does, why does He not seem to answer our prayers to remove the virus causing the disease from the earth. People have also dismissed the relevance of the scriptures, especially when the churches have now been shut down by the State Authorities.  So many questions begin for answers!  Like these people, so many of us feel this way but would rather prefer to hide our feelings. The reason you may doubt God is because you cannot see Him, and this makes you to doubt the existence of His word as well. Very many times, by some divine opportunities, we are allowed to go through certain experiences in life in order to prove to us that God truly exists. Some of these experiences are usually not too good by our human definitions or judgement. But if we believe that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD for those who believe in God, then we are assured of victory on the short or long run. For this reason, all Christians ought to view COVID – 19 as a corrective or remedial tools to heal the world of so many mis- normal and wrong attitudes that have consistently derailed us as humans over so many years; A change is desirable nonetheless! Therefore, let us give thanks to God still!

So many people are often devastated in the face of tragic circumstances, just like the present CORONAVIRUS attacks on the world.  That is so because we are human, and we feel pains! Nevertheless, the best place to be when we are struck by situations adverse to our faith is to recoil back into the inner recess of the Spirit, this is the threshold of our inner temple where Christ dwells. When we confess the word of God upon our life, and aligns with the Christ Spirit, our pains are gradually transmuted and translated to joy and peace of the mind. Like the woman who was instantly cured of several years of hemorrhage on touching the hem of the master’s robe, so will you experience a positive change if you believe! Clearly, your belief in God plays a key role in changing every adverse situation to a positive end for us. But how it works out is one of the greatest mysteries of God which you have to learn in your Christian journey. Faith usually does not mean that we get everything we prayed for, just the way we presented them to God. It only means that by faith, we are able to encounter God in prayers, and in the process, we are consoled! To be consoled in the Lord is the victory that we seek in prayers. Our yearnings are created by an inner void which only the perfect Spirit of God can fill; When that happens, we experience an inner peace or contentment which are indescribable.  All human beings have problems, whether rich or poor; white or black! That in itself does not mean that God does not exist, or that He has forsaken humanity!

Therefore, commit your problems into the hands of God and BELIEVE in His power to fill your inner void. In His spirit lies the happiness that we crave for, NOT in the things that we madly crave for! The situation you are going through right now might not be the best you wished for BUT believe without doubt, that God walks through all things to bring us happiness, and God is working out a path of victory  for you this moment, in His own way. AMEN.

PRAYER

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am greatly empowered by the Holy Spirit and I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior of the world. Lord, I decree no confusion or fear shall eat up this revelation from my heart. Father, today I reject and renounce any false teaching and deceitful manipulations of my understanding of God, His written word and Jesus Christ. Father, I declare that your promises are manifesting in my life right NOW and the Holy Spirit counsels and empowers me Now. Amen.
